The 4 Gb/s Fibre Channel standard boosts the performance of storage-area networks (SANs) by doubling speed while maintaining backward-compatibility with 2 Gb/s and 1 Gb/s systems. In addition, 4 Gb/s storage hardware is available at a cost comparable to 2 Gb/s products. As IT managers deal with an ever-increasing deluge of data from emerging bandwidth-intensive graphics and video applications, and new document retention and security requirements, they will need to increase Fibre Channel SAN capacity without increasing costs. When implementing a 4G environment it is important that all components support 4G, including the optical transmission equipment. Teosco CWDM SFP 4G FC Optical transceivers provide the interface between Fibre Channel systems and the optical fibers of the SAN. We offer a complete portfolio of 4 Gb/s SFPs. Starting from 850 nm and 1310 nm SFPs for intra-office connections u to 80 km CWDM SFPs for SAN extension applications.

CWDM modules operate at nominal Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) wavelengths. There are eight center wavelengths available from 1271nm to 1611nm, with each step 20nm. The CWDM characteristics are fully compliant to the wavelength parameters specified in ITU standards G.694.2andG.695.
