DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION:

When combined with signal level meters with full SCAN, SPECTRUM, normalization or reference modes, our VNS-1000 Noise Generator provides a low cost portablee stt package capable of measuring the gain/loss, frequency response, and return loss from 5 to 1100MHz. The VNSB-1000 is supplied with one VCRL-0 “SHORT” and on eVCRL-17 calibrated terminator (also available are 10, 14, 20, and 23dB values.) This is used as a reference trace on the SLM. Connect the unit to DUT (Devise Under Test). If all tarces are below the calibrated reference line, DUT had greater than 17dB return loss. If traces are over the reference line, DUT failed for return loss.
